Following a commission from a specialist contractor working with Royal Caribbean, we delivered 35mm PVC panels with Pre-applied Graphics to the port of Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
Normally, our hoarding systems can be relied on to stand still for the full project duration once installed, but we are happy to report that this system has set sail from Florida and is currently touring the Caribbean Sea.
Hoarding Warehouse’s 35mm PVC system with Pre-Applied Graphics boarded the Allure of the Seas cruise ship and was installed on Deck 4 – an entertainment and nightlife hub called Entertainment Place.
Our 2.7m-high Freestanding PVC hoarding created a secure work area where a new arcade area could be fitted out and redecorated. Refurbishment work can take place at sea and while the cruise liner is stationary in the famous ports of the Caribbean Islands.
Specification and build
Components
Bespoke graphics were formatted, printed and applied to each PVC panel by our expert team in the UK before being delivered in flat-pack form, along with the system components, by air freight to Florida in the USA.

For extra stability, we specified two 15kg weights to be added to every steel base. The bases are positioned at 2m intervals on the work side of the hoarding.
All system components are reusable, many time, boosting the sustainability ratings of temporary works projects.

Secure access
Three sets of non-standard double-leaf personnel doors were built into the hoarding. Each door leaf is 2m wide – wider than a standard door – allowing new arcade machines and trade teams to be safely admitted to the new area.
The doors feature digital lock entry pads to limit access to authorised staff only.
Result
The hoarding effectively screens refurbishment works from passengers and crew while maintaining a safe, hygienic, dust-free and secure worksite for the duration of the project.
The bespoke graphics help to maintain the vibrant feel of Deck 4, which is dedicated to entertainment and features a nightclub, cinema and bars.
