Hoarding Warehouse supplied a One Hour Fire Rated system which was expertly configured and installed to create six temporary consultation rooms within the Cancer Centre at the NHS Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
72 linear metres of 2.4m high Fire Rated panels were used for the walls and ceilings and DDA-compliant doors were built-in along with ceiling cutouts for light wells and ventilation systems.
The temporary rooms were needed during a 6-month hospital refurbishment which included removing a roof section above the existing consulting rooms.
Specification & Build
Components
A detailed site survey was undertaken by the installation team before detailed drawings were submitted and approved.
The core system used for the walls and ceilings was our One Hour Fire Rated system. Additional site-specific components included steel posts which were bolted into the floor for extra stability.
A hidden sound reduction membrane was applied to the inside walls and covered by a PVC wall lining. This reduced noise levels by 53db during the ongoing works within the hospital. Additional graphics were expertly applied to the room interiors by our in-house graphics team.

Secure Access
Six digi-lock doors were installed to ensure restricted access to each room and to maintain high levels of privacy for the consultations.
Result
We created six temporary consultation rooms to allow the Cancer Centre to continue functioning effectively throughout a major 6-month refurbishment programme.
